Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay

For those of you who haven’t met me yet, my name is Alaina, and I am the newest member of the evolve Nurturing Vitality Team. On June 20-21, from 10am to 10pm I will be running/jogging/walking a 4km course around Swanguard stadium to raise money for a very worthy cause: sending disabled children from BC to camp for the summer. The Money Mart Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay for the Kids is an annual community based fundraising event that challenges groups of people to run or walk Relay-style for 24 fun-filled hours in order to help BC's children with disabilities.

After last year's BIG success of my team, raising $13,500 in our first year and having so much fun, I am excited to say it is that time of year again! In the months leading up to relay weekend, we organize team fundraising events and collect individual pledges to put towards our team total. All of the money that is raised through this event stays in the province and helps the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities send hundreds of kids to Easter Seals Summer Camps. It costs about $2400 to attend the camp, last year we sent 5 kids to camp;this year help us send 6! Over the next 3 months my-self and my team members will be collecting donations with the hopes of raising $15,000, so we can send as many kids as possible to camp this summer.

You can donate online at www.24hourrelay.com (click here for the donation screen) Just select my team, Team Travis.

All donations are tax deductible, and any contribution you can make to the cause will be greatly appreciated! This is such a great event that gives so much happiness to so many, and I am very excited to be part of it!For more information about the history of the Relay, BC Lions Society, Easter Seals Summer Camps, or to visit the Team Travis page, visit the Relay website at www.24hourrelay.com.

Please donate and help our team reach its goal of giving children abilities!!!
